Section 1. In executive order no. 80 of 15 July 2016 from the Faroese Maritime Authority on occupational health in ships (Notice A) as amended in executive order no. 81 of 19 July 2016, the following amendments shall be made:

See amendments in enclosed annex I to this executive order.

Section 2. This executive order shall enter into force on 15 July 2018.

Annex 1

In annex 2 to executive order no. 80 of 15 July 2016 from the Faroese Maritime Authority on occupational health in ships (Notice A) the following amendments shall be made:

1. Chapter I, Part B, annex 2, shall be as follows:

"List of substances and materials with which young people below the age of 18 shall not work or to which they shall not be exposed in any other way:

1)      Substances and materials complying with the criteria for classification, cf. regulation (EC) no. 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, etc., as amended (the CLP regulation), which can be labelled with at least one of the following symbols or GHS pictograms:

GHS06, skull and crossbones

GHS08, health hazards

GHS05, corrosion

GHS01, exploding bomb

or which comply with the criteria for classification, cf. the CLP regulation, within one or more of the following hazard classes and hazard categories, with one or more of the following hazard clauses:

-acute toxicity, category 1, 2 or 3

H300 Fatal if swallowed

H310 Fatal in contact with skin

H330 Fatal if inhaled

H301 Toxic if swallowed

H311 Toxic in contact with skin

H331 Toxic if inhaled

 - skin corrosion, category 1A, 1B or 1C

H314 Causes severe skin burns and eye damage

 - flammable gases, category 1 or 2

H220 Extremely flammable gas

H221 Flammable gas

 – flammable aerosols, category 1

2) Substances, materials and processes covered by the executive order on measures to prevent cancer when working with substances and materials.

3) Organic solvents on the list issued by the Danish Working Environment Authority of organic solvents in the AT instruction on limit values for substances and materials.

4) Materials containing 1 % or more of solvents mentioned under item 3.

5) Biological agents in groups 3 and 4 of the executive order on biological agents and occupational health, or with other work where they may – due to the nature of the work or the conditions under which it is carried out – be exposed to the effect of such agents.

6) Lead and lead compounds insofar as they can be absorbed by the human organism.

7) Asbestos.

8) The handling of fireworks as well as different objects, machinery, etc. that contain explosives."

 

2. Chapter II, Part A, regulation 3, paragraph 1, shall be as follows:

"In case of acquisition in countries within the European Union, the labelling may be in English, cf. article 17(2) of regulation (EC) no. 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amending regulation (EC) no. 1907/2006 (the CLP regulation)."
