Section 1. In executive order no. 98 of 23 June 2017 from the Faroese Maritime Authority on construction and equipment, etc. (Notice B – 1 July 2017) the following amendments shall be made:

See amendments in enclosed annex 1 and 2 to this executive order.

Section 2. Subsection 1. This executive order shall enter into force on 15 July 2018.

Subsection 2. Trading permits issued pursuant to chapter I, regulation 12, a (ii) shall still be valid until 1 October 2018.

Subsection 3. At the same time executive order no. 36 of 26 April 2016 from the Faroese Maritime Authority on construction and equipment, etc (Notice B), shall be repealed.

Annex 1

In annex 1 to executive order no. 98 of 23 June 2017 from the Faroese Maritime Authority on construction and equipment, etc.  (Notice B – 1 July 2017) following amendment shall be made:

1. After “Specific Faroese rules on imported vessels below 500 GT and SOLAS ships, sentence 2” in annex 1, the following shall be inserted:

“2)

 Regulation 12-1 – Issue of certificates for cargo ships with a gross tonnage of less than 500

(i) After an initial survey of a cargo ship, a permit shall be issued for the ship to enter into service. The trading permit shall state the area in which the ship may operate and the terms on which the ship may be used. Furthermore, the maximum number of persons that the ship may carry with the life-saving appliances on board shall be stated.”
